Set to perform in Hanoi on Nov. 20 and Ho Chi Minh City on Nov. 21 as part of the Super X Festival, the organisers have indefinitely postponed the festival because of “poor ticket sales”.
Say the organisers in a statement released on Nov. 1, so far ticket sales have not “reached expectations”.
They add: “One of the factors determining a show’s success is the care and support from the audience. After considering your response, we have decided to postpone Super X Festival. We understand your expectations and will come back with a better and more complete show.”
Promising to reimburse anyone who has already bought tickets, entrance costs would have been between VND550,000 (US$24.62) and VND3,990,000 (US$178.63). Yet this is not the first time a show headlined by a K-pop star has been canceled in Vietnam. Over the past few years, shows featuring JYJ, T-ara, and Lee Min-ho were canceled because of poor ticket sales.
